How can I reach out to families in need and make a difference by helping people affected by cancer?

Less than a week ago, a close family friend passed away from cancer. She has three daughters, all still in school. I myself am only a junior in high school, but want to find a way to reach out to family's who are affected by family members with health issues without invading the privacy of these families. Any ideas how I can make a difference?

I'm sure you can find numerous opportunities by searching national databases. They may need people to fundraise, do administrative tasks, donate hair, sit with hospice patients, etc.You can also participate in charity walks. The first link gives information on different volunteer databases. The second is a site called Locks of Love. The third will have links to charity walk/runs.
