The Great Contrast

The plane is about to make its final turn for landing at Manila's international airport after several hours cruising above the South China Sea. What a view -- then pointed my camera on this small peninsula(probably near Sangley Point), part of Cavite province. Something caught my mind's moment -- look at this. Maybe the poorer people on the shores of both sides of the peninsula, then, probably middle class homes, with some trees in the inner areas, then the big church at the center. I have nothing against the church or the people. I don't even know what church is this at 7,000 ft (nor do I care what kind of church is it, but it looks like a church to me). Though I don't know what church is this, the contrast in all these is very evident.

I just thought of some question I always ask myself sometimes -- will religion bring wealth? Or will wealth bring religion? I see it much like the chicken and egg stuff these days. But I don't really know the real score... just wondering...

... maybe you do.

Will the poor ever inherit the earth? Or will the poor always be the first people to be fooled by religion? Or am I starting with the wrong premise?
